Bus to Casma - 6 hours. Visit Paramonga (Chimu
– 1300 AD) ruins near Pativilca on the way. |

Tour Sechin (1600 BC) ruins in the morning.
Bus to Huaraz (elev 10,000’) over Cordillera Negra (7 hours).
With clear weather, view the Cordillera Blanca before dropping into
Huaraz. The Cordillera Blanca has 50 peaks over 5700 meters (18,800
feet). |

Cross the Cordillera Blanca and tour Chavin
(Chavin – 1000-300 BC), the oldest major culture in Peru. |

Day hike in the Cordillera Blanca. |
| Day 7 - Wednesday |
Day hike in the Cordillera Blanca. |
| Day 8 - Thursday |
Tour valley (Callejon de Huaylas) – Yungay,
Caraz, and Llanganuco. Short hike above Laguna Llanganuco. Stay
overnight in Caraz. |
| Day 9 - Friday |
Travel to Trujillo by bus through the Canon
del Pato (Duck Canyon) (9 hours). The road through the narrow canyon
has over 50 tunnels. |
| Day 10 - Saturday |
Tour Chan Chan (Chimu-1300 AD) and La Huaca
Esmeralda (Chimu-1300 AD) ruins. Visit beach at Huanchaco. Free
afternoon. |
| Day 11 - Sunday |
Tour La Huaca Arco Iris (Chimu-1300 AD) and
Huacas del Sol y de la Luna (Moche-600 AD). Free afternoon in Trujillo. |
| Day 12 - Monday |
Bus to Cajamarca – 9 hours (8700’),
site of the victory by Pizarro over the Inca king Atahualpa. |
| Day 13 - Tuesday |
Visit Banos del Inca, Cumbe Mayo and other sites. |
| Day 14 - Wednesday |
Free day in Cajamarca. |
| Day 15 - Thursday |
Bus to Chiclayo – 7 hours. |
| Day 16 - Friday |
Tour Sipan (Moche–500 AD) and the two
Lambayeque mesuems with a fabulous exhibit of gold artifacts discovered
at Sipan. |
| Day 17 - Saturday |
Tour Tucume (Moche). Free afternoon. |
| Day 18 - Sunday |
Free morning. Fly to Lima in afternoon and return
to US. |

Arrive in Seattle. |
